.what is purpose of UNIVERSITY - countdown week 10 to Yunus book on most purposeful systems

My first parse (click http://futurecapitalism.ning.com/forum/topics/what-is-purpose-of-university if you have a more exciting version )

PURPOSE OF UNIVERSITY is to help young people innovate what humanity most needs next and so entrepreneurially create more jobs than they take – at another level now we live in a networked world to celebrate collaboration across cultures, boundaries and unite in a goal  far more vital (and simpler)  than the 60s mission to get to the moon – end poverty as that failed system that one out of 7 children are still born into giving them next to zero chance of a productive life) Every hi-trust system designer  I read in the 20th century made it clear that today's 21 year old netizen would be challenged with the greatest threat and opportunity our human race has faced or booked – using technology to give every human being 10 times more productive or 10 times less productive connections within half a generation. Somehow universities need to stop examining siloised facts and start empowering dialogues that show old professional borders are where the greatest risks will compound. In other words what Gandhi http://yunusnetworks.com found out in 1906 (that empires professions were ruining his peoples and a whole new edu system would be needed to replace it) is now the game being palyed on every worldwide stage worth a young person's time. Quite simply why should a business school -however elite in C20 - keep any ranking at ll if it refuses to collaborate in the missing curriculum of sustainability now.

1976 yunus first network of centres - eligibilty poorest bangla village women -formalised by 1983 Bangla law as Grameen Bank owned by the poorest -first formal social business system dseign

c.1989 grameen trust and dialogue -first network of international co-creators of grameen microcredit-primarily newslelter and 3 times a year meetings in dhaka; students can also join internships at grameen typicaly for a month+ of their choice; 1996 also sees start of grameen solar energy business GShakti - a co-founder of which now networks microenergycredits.com

1997 microcreditsummit starts peoples greatest networking process - this is hosted in trust by sam daley harris; at same time Grameen Foundation DC is formed in USA; this becomes a fundraiser for all grameen type microcredits; yunus sits on board but ownership governed by Alex Counts former developer of Grameen dialogue newsletter -some internships possible at GF

From about 2004 a handful of Grameen companies abroad appear started by Grameen America (Boston/NY), then later Grameen Creative Lab (Wiesbaden). Some internships available. Also around 2004, Skoll invites Yunus to join as a global social entrepreneur  at ashoka; after 3 Keynotes at annual SE summit in oxford, Yunus takes a more pasive role- over 90% of social entrepreneurs do not design is positive casflow the way yunus demands that social business models do

2006 at time of Nobel prize, YunusForum opens as a intercity dialogues network open to all who passionately want to comment social business; however Yunus then develops more specific channels - currently Yforum helps interns and may be regarded as an infoermation desk but not an active networking collaboration centre

Yunus starts university centre partnerships - at their most open like HEC Paris they scale up connections between tens of thousands of microentrepreneurs -see our blog entries on which cities have what

Open Letter on Entrepreneurial Revolution Cubed to founder of social entrepreneurs

Typical letter to DC community building networks -from chris macrae tel 301 881 1655 :

hello - my name is chris macrae; I live near white flint metro; I am an informal supporter of muhammad yunus and all his social business networks; last week I was at RSA london inquiring whether they could put on a talk round yunus new book out in may; London remains my most networked citizen area and since living in DC my associate in london for 5 years now has been job creation community builder and yunus 69 birthday dialoigue host sofia

though best known as nobel laureate for his banking for the poor, Dr Yunus he is trying to help restore community building and job creation to every market that global systems may have crashed into ...would like to chat to see if there is an overlap between rsa networks in your region and yunus suporter networks; incidentally Obama's mother was a pioneer of microcredit in indonesia and hilary clinton instrumental in starting the worldwide peoples summit process http://www.microcreditsummit.org/  in 1997 which has elevated yunus to perhaps the most connected networker in social business reformation today chris macrae 301 881 1655

And world  citizens number 1 favoutite networker is the founder of social business entrepreneurial system design

Since 1976 London Entrepreneur networks have been looking for microeconomic system designs capable of collaboratively ending poverty in every communitis as the net generation's equivalent joyful cemebration to the 1960s space race. 2005 was ine of our worst years. It had been billed as a joyful collaboration in making poverty history and recalibrating millennium goal maps for but then the Boxing Day tsunami meant that the practice networks between Londoners and Gandhians being built by Global Reconciliation Network needed to be postponed for urgent fieldwork, and the G8 plans were so far above their peoples that London was left to be the stage of the 7/7 tertorists. By fall 2005, 40 people met at http://the-hub.net - let's start again who is the most collaborative networker to connect our next 7 years of compound sustainability solution networking around? Research identified Muhammad Yunus is the person most sustainability  citizens wanted to network round - but that began a puzzle - how can people join networks around one man? This is an evolving survey- if you think our descriptions of way to network with yunus need editing - plese tell me chris.macrae@yahoo.co.uk

.Other yunus networks likely to emerge around new book starting summer 2012 - for some resources see http://www.buildingsocialbusiness.com/ Yunus forum sponsors of bookclubs are now reforming citizen  peer to peer groups - see http://www.londoncreativelabs.com/ and http://www.youthworldbanking.com/ as emerging informal spaces

Gandhian Networks who could help Yunus Networks
Ganesh Devy is one of the greatest Gandhian Networkers alive (ie knows who are truest pracs and acs of Gandhian empowerment maps and the system transformation method Einstein rated the most sustainable ever interacted); Ganesh leads representation of nomads poorests including advasi; he first met dr yunus in mumbai march 2010

volunteer connector of creativelabs at DC, Paris, NY, Glasgow, LA,  Berlin first met Ganesh at Global Reconcilition Net Summit London 2003 then GRN summit Delhi 2004; GRN summit is a 50+ countries people testimonies net on reconciling attrocites between different races and historically warring parties faciliated mainly by medical practitioners whose regeneration (community building) work has connected many places and peoples after great sufferings.

De Yunus first made a public speech to manmohan singh & Indian parliament in Decmber 2009; Manmohan Singh was trained at cambridge University a few yers after the UK's greatest 20th C microeconomist (bias possible here as he's my dad) Norman Macrae who had taught himself economics from an Indian correposndence course as a teenager waiting ti navigate RAF lanes out of Dhaka in world war 2; Norman's Father-in-Law was Sir Kenneth kemp whom it took gandhi 25 yers to transform - one Bar of London Barrister to another. Sir Kenneth as British raj judge for Mmbai first imprisoned ganhi but later helped write up te legalese of India's independence. Manmohan Singh is well aquanited qith India's chief scientist and former president (first visited yunus summer 2009) who is a great supporter of Indian Youth. including the Montesorri-Gandhian schooling system run by one family for 31000 Lucknow children. Klam has champiined the rights of youth to tear up any educational curriculum that isnt sustainability true. We welome your contrinutions to which ganhian networks can conne ct with Yunus goal to make the 2010s the most colabortive for sustainability at http://yunusasia.ning.com

medical networks - the greatest yunus interest of them all ?

Mail sent to circulation including the world's first social business chair of medecine (Glasgow) and the first acting head of the Yunus Centre at Asia Institute of Tech, and the origin of all Yunus Cnetre partnerships at HEC paris, and the 2 mist inmspirining epicentres of youth job creation in europe - LondonCreativeLabs and DanoneCommunities (paris). Transparency note: our family fopundation isabellawm.com currently has small loans made to te social businesses Grameen Shikkha secondary scholarships for Bangladesh village girls who may become nurses and to LondonCreativeLabs

I have had some experience in signing visa etc letters for mostofa's 3 year stay  when Dr Yunus' alumni of http://www.yunusforum.net/ -which sofia http://www.londoncreativelabs.com/  and I have been members of social action team of since 2006. Good that Dr Tagad is from India. Many generations on my mother's side come from the Raj in India being pharmacists (Kemps Corner in Mumbai) or 25 year long co-workers with Mahatma Gandhi (for want of a better description of grandad's role as mumbai judge who first impirisoned Gandhi and later wrote up the legalese for independence)

To date the greatest informal university support for yunus type networks has come from east London University, a veteran indian professor of social enterprise there who is also republishing druckers views on 50 time more productive knowledge work in many languages, and whose campus near the olympics stadium wants to celebrate with global grameen's focus at this time and place in London's transformation as a sustainable future capital

My recollection is that signatures can be needed for slightly different things -eg 1 institutional host, 2 financial insurance but of course this may have been because mostofa had a long stay. Whilst not currently being in a position to offer any financial support, in princple I am happy to sign financial papers if this unfreezes bureaucracy so that the institutes can quickly get on with the real team work implied. To have experienced the whole HEC SB track course is an opportunity like none other I yet can imagine in Yunus Centre world. Borje did you ever get a copy of the danone case from frederic?

Incidentally one of my family's best friends is one of the great self-esteem empowerers of the nursing profession out of london and beyond; another family friend is sir keith peters former president of the royal society of medicine;  another aquaintance is the remarkable australian peace and medical professor Paul Komesaroff  who also mentors my brother-in-law in melbourne where cousin Finlay is know for innovations in cancer:   if any of these introductions would be useful to Cam please say (There is also the most extraordinary networker and young medical researcher Eva Vertes that Sofia and I have been looking for any opportunity to reconnect since first mictopublishing her story in our 2006 world citizen guide that also asked londoners what they hoped yunus could help us build up to the sustainability olympics 2012).

Sofia will be in kenya at microcreditsummit -is anyone form glasgow going. I understand that sofia has already been introduced by sam daley harris' team to the chief of staff of kenya's and the world's number 1 youth microcredit http://www.jamiibora.org/ who is also the spouse? of probably the top person in kenya's healthcare systems

I once heard  rumor - and may be wholly wrong - that the scottish entrepreneur sir tom hunter was behind investing in Yunus Glasgow. What is known is when yunus made his first speech there Sir Tom stood up and said the least we can do to honor you dr yunus is to action what you told us. I believe he is both quite  private personality and may have had a real bad time in the financial markets. I hope on those 2 labels I am wrong.

as you may know scots were a victim of one of the first international banking scams in 1700 -one conseqeunce was adam smith alumni of microeconomics including the founding of The Economist in 1843; another: if nothing else scots are distributed worldwide - by 1850 half us were unsustainable under london's empiredom, and had worldwide webbed so to speak.

cheers

The coming to a country of a Yunus Centre partnership with a University causes very different responses; as you see Bangkok AIT makes national news; Paris HEC has with Danone helped tens of thousands of youth in yes we can entrepreneur; Glasgow's University centre started the collaboration game lets end nurseless villages; barely a ripple has come from US opening at California Channel Isles; how much gravity Berlin Free University has is hard to say because November 2009 was an extraordinary triple celebration: 20th fall of wall. the free university's staging of an annual meet, and wolfsburg's staging of first ever global grameen alumni meet

We are interested if you know any capitals in the world where job creation sessions are being staged with such imoacts as that of LondonCreativeLabs

16 march 2010 bookclub news

1) I hope by saturday I will have got 90% of dr yunus new book from the publisher; I will put a laser of it in a place that needs to be signed into; if you access it please do not pass it on to anyone else without explaining to them that I need to know who has a copy so I can pay the publisher for a full copy price; obviously I hope this first sight of the book is shared by those who really want to help yunus as well as each other ; we have been trying to prep resources on this book at www.buildingsocialbusiness.com -some sections of this have the same password code as accessng the book will have; this isnt because of a secretness, but we or I have got muddled on what's truly a way forward worth spending your collaboration time on and what isn't

END GOLDMAN SACHS= END POVERTY?

2) partly because my maternal grandfather was mentored on top down system change for 25 years by gandhi, I dont believe we have any chance of sustainability unless we form an association of professionals who want to overturn the global form of their own profession - eg global economists global accountants, global risk analysts, global ad agencies, global designers of facebooks the other way round from that which berners lee would value open collaboration, all the global profesisons wall street hires are compounding a big bnrother future not a community/jobs sustaining one; we wont get another yunus coming along at least in my life time so if you want to join in such an association then contact at least one of sofia, robert de quelen or me; we spent 2 days in paris last week agreeing that we needed such an association but not necessarily agreeing that we could even manage a first 12 social action months of forming one together; there are probably 2 leading hypotheses on why the 3 of us cant see how to connect what the 100 unprofessionals need to - either its mainly my fault because I believe this is our last chance for humanity and especially my 13 year old daughter http://isabellawm.com  and am sometimes franticly impolite etc, or we have ultimately heard dr yunus promise different things and cant work out which are the priorities where these things dont match; to this day its my belief that yunus is probably more motivated to end poverty in bangladesh and then the world rather than the whole world all at the same time; I have come to this belief having been directed so I thought to spend much of a year trying to connect people who wanted to go beyond the old wall street only to find that dr yunus wasnt really expecting obama could lead this; that doesnt actually diminish my admiration for how yunus changes the games of global media in ways nobody  else does but it certainly leaves me in a bit of a mess explaining to some of my friends why I wasted their time on various detours

3 I hope to find the right time in 2010 to come over to LA; to try to join in the next round of the global summit; there were some most extraordinary connections from melanie's 2008 presidio meet including in my mind john perry barlow (who seemed to know what the www was supposed to be about even better than berners lee himself) and gunter pauli (who is one of the people who has taken on the responsibilty to be an epicentre of 100 million job creation -  2 people I would travel almost as far as I would yunus to try to understand how to map http://www.yunusnetworks.com

it may be that those women www.youthworldbanking.com who are able to converse with the foursome ms nurjahan begum, ms benedicte faivre-tavignot, ms ingrid munro and ms sofia bustamante are in a better space to network empowerment and the millennium goals race than the chase to please yunus -however because all my career has been to do with systems of global media I will myself still stubbornly prirotise in search of yunus chris.macrae @yahoo.co.uk
